
How do I register my team for your league? You can register your team by either coming in to our office with the registration form filled out or you can email your completed form to PARDathletics@austintexas.gov
Where is your office located? Our office is located at the Krieg Softball Complex: 515 S. Pleasant Valley Rd. Austin, TX 78741
Can you hold a spot in your league for my team? Team spots are only secured once a registration form is received and payment has been collected.
Is the fee posted on the registration form per team or per player? The fee posted on the form is per team. The Athletics Office only accepts team registrations.
My team needs a name? Feel free to be as creative or generic as possible when creating a team name. We ask that you please be respectful when deciding on a team name. PARD Athletics will not tolerate racist, sexist, or otherwise demeaning names for teams. We reserve the right to remove a name that we deem inappropriate.
On what day do we play our games? 8-man will be played on Wednesdays and 5-man will be played on Thursdays.
Do we have a playoff? Yes, the regular season games decide your playoff seed and a champion is determined after the playoffs. Teams may be restricted from participation in playoffs due to violation of our Code of Conduct or any other reasons determined necessary by the Athletics Office.
Do we have to wear uniforms with numbers? Teams are required to wear matching uniforms/shirts by color, however numbers are not required.
What shorts should we wear? Players are required to wear shorts that DO NOT have pockets. Please take a look at our Flag Football forms for more rules/information.
What is the age requirement to play in your football league? You must be 18 years of age or older to play in our adult football league. Players aged 16 and 17 can play once a signed Parental Consent form is on file with a copy of a form of ID from the participant. The minimum age to play is 16. You, as well as a parent/guardian must come into our office to complete the waiver and present a photo ID.
What time are games played? Game times depend on how many teams are in the league as they are played in one hour increments. Games start at 6:30PM if we have four games to be played. If there are fewer than four games to be played, games will start at 7PM. The last games will normally start at 9PM or 9:30PM.
If I don’t have a team to register, how do I join a team? Do you accept individual registrations? We do not accept individual registrations forms. We do have a free agent list on our website, www.capitalcityathletics.com. You can sign up and hope someone contacts you, however, the best way to join a team is to come out to the complex on a night that works best for you and talk to some of the players and coaches about joining a team.
How do I receive information about schedules? When schedules have been posted to the website, www.capitalcityathletics.com, we notify the team manager. It is the team manager’s responsibility to relay the schedule to his/her teammates.
What do we do about rain outs? How do we get notified and do games get rescheduled? If games are canceled due to inclement weather during business hours, the manager of each team will be notified by the Athletics staff via email. We also post the information on our website, www.capitalcityathletics.com and we update our rainout line (512-978-2680). Once games have started it is the referee’s decision whether to cancel games due to weather. If games are canceled, we will contact the managers of the later games. We do our best to reschedule all games. If we cannot fit the game into the schedule, your account will be credited for games not played.
What is your roster policy? Rosters must be submitted before the season starts. Before the player’s first game played, they must present ID, sign and date beside their name. If a player shows up to play and they are not on the roster, they must present ID, print their name, sign and date. A team manager may add players to their roster before their roster locks. You can add players on site at the field or by sending an email to PARDAthletics@austintexas.gov. A player must play one regular season game to be eligible to participate in the playoffs. Once the lock date occurs, players can no longer be added to your roster.
What type of flag belts do we use for the league and do we need to bring our own? Each player should provide their own flag belt. The City of Austin will have limited flag belts available (if needed) and they must be returned after the game. Each player must wear the Flag-a-tag Sonic Flag Football belt at the waistline with two (2) flags permanently attached, one flag on each side. The flags must be of a contrasting color to the shorts they wear. Flag length must be 14-18 inches long from where the flag connects to end of flag. Also, the flag must be 2 inches in width as well.
