How do I rent an athletic field? Stop by the Athletics office to fill out an “Hourly Reservation Application” or submit the completed application to PARDAthletics@austintexas.gov. Payment must be made in full and you must receive a permit from the Athletics Office to secure your reservation.

What is a permit? Once your reservation application has been review/approved by the Athletics Office and payment collected, then a permit will be sent to the email you placed on your application. Please have this permit available with you on site if approached by any staff to verify your reservation.

Where is the application located online? You’ll find the “Hourly Reservation Application” under Forms/Information on the Capital City Athletics website https://capitalcityathletics.com/downloads

What is an hourly reservation? An hourly reservation is informal usage of a field/facility. Examples would be batting practice, a gathering of friends to play, team practice, etc. Hourly reservations are not suitable for any type of scheduled game, scrimmage, event, or tournament. Please see information on “Formal Reservations” for these types of facility usage.

How far in advance can I reserve a field for use? Up to 14 calendar days prior to your requested usage.

Once I submit my application, when will I hear back from your office? All inquiries will be answered within 48 hours from time of submission.  If you haven’t heard from our office, please call 512-978-2670

What fields are available to rent? We have a variety of sport/multiple fields available to rent depending on the date requested. Including softball, baseball, kickball fields.  Once you submit your application the athletics office will review which field is best for your desired activity

Can I share my reservation with someone else after I am done or if I no longer need it? Subletting any facility is strictly prohibited and may lead to further violations. Facility usage with any individual or group must be approved and secured to the Athletics Office. Never let anyone else within your rented facility; if you have issues you may always call 311 or 911 if it is an emergency. You are ultimately responsible for the facility during the time frame of your approved rental. 

I saw you have sand volleyball courts. Are those available to reserve? Yes, we have 5 sand courts available for rent. The athletics office will process this request the same as an athletic field request.

How long can my reservation be for? Minimum of 1 hour to maximum of 3 hours and made only on hour increments.

My reservation requires lights. Will staff turn the field lights on? If your reservation requires lights, they’ll be turned on my PARD staff 15 minutes prior to your reservation start time & turn off 15 minutes after your reservation end time.

What if there is an issue during my reservation? Once you have paid in full for your facility reservation, you will be sent an email with contact information for particular circumstances (locked out of a facility, lighting issues, maintenance issues, etc.). If in doubt you may always call 311 who can assist connecting you with the appropriate staff. Never hop a fence or cute any chains/locks to enter a facility.

Does your office provided sporting equipment when we reserve a field? No. Our office does not lend out any sport equipment for reservations. However, adult softballs (men’s & coed) are available for purchase at our office. 

Do fields come prepped & lined when once we reserve? All fields come “as is”. If you’d like your field line an additional $50 fee per field will be added to your reservation.

Austin is a dog friendly city. Can I bring my dog to the field? Dogs are allowed at the park on a 6-foot leash only.  Dogs are not allowed on any athletic field or inside dugouts at any time.

Can we bring alcohol to the field? Only Krieg and Havins Complexes allow alcohol. However, you are not allowed to have alcohol in the dugout, within the confines of the playing facility, or on the field or sand courts. If alcohol is seen in any of these areas you may be suspended from making reservations in the future. Glass is prohibited in all areas of the complex. Alcohol is strictly prohibited at all other fields and facilities.

Are there bathrooms on site & trash cans? Majority of our fields have public bathrooms & trashcans available. Once your application is submitted the Athletics office will contact you & discuss park logistics.

Will I be given a gate code for my reservation? Once your reservation is confirmed by the Athletics Office, we’ll notify park staff of your reservation to unlock the field used. If your reservation is over the weekend, the Athletics Office will provide field information the Friday prior to your request date.

Is a deposit required for a field reservation?  No deposit is required. However, payment in full is required to confirm a field reservation prior to usage.

Since there are athletic fields, can I play any sport I desire on the field I request? We have a variety of sport fields (softball/baseball/kickball/multipurpose). Once your application is submitted, the athletics office will determine if the desired activity is appropriate for our athletic fields. A general rule of thumb is that a field may only be used for the sport it is intended for, otherwise permission from our Department Director may be required.
